Ten years after its original release, The White Stripes' penultimate album, Get Behind Me Satan, will be getting the vinyl treatment. Exclusively for Record Store Day, Get Behind Me Satan will be released on red and white vinyl, featuring newly created inner artwork. The album also will be released as a standard vinyl record later this year.
Get Behind Me Satan was The White Stripes' more piano-focused followup to their big rock record, 2003's Elephant which featured the band's massive single, "Seven Nation Army." Even with the stylistic change, Get Behind Me Satan debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 and took home Best Alternative Music Album at the 2006 Grammys.
In other White Stripes vinyl news, Jack White's label Third Man Records is re-releasing four singles from Elephant as seven-inch records: "Seven Nation Army," "I Just Don't Know What to Do with Myself," "There's No Home for You Here" and "Hardest Button to Button." The singles are now available at ThirdManStore.com.
Get Behind Me Satan will be released on vinyl on Record Store Day, April 18.
