The White Stripes’ “Get Behind Me Satan” Tops Record Store Day Sales

Third Man RecordsThe White Stripes' Get Behind Me Satan was the best-selling Record Store Day release, according to the event's organizers. The vinyl reissue of the band's 2005 album beat out hundreds of releases from artists including Metallica, Foo Fighters, U2 and Jimi Hendrix.

Metallica's RSD contribution, a cassette version of their previously unreleased 1982 demo No Life 'til Leather, placed second in sales. Rap duo Run the Jewels came in third place, while David Bowie and The Black Keys round out the top five.

Record Store Day, the annual celebration of independent record stores, was held last Saturday. Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl served as the official ambassador of RSD 2015, and his band played a special in-store concert at the Record Connection in Niles, Ohio.
