Third Man Records Releasing Live White Stripes Set in New Vault Package

Image Courtesy of Third Man RecordsThe White Stripes' penultimate album, Get Behind Me Satan, turns 10 this year, and to celebrate, Third Man Records is releasing a live LP and DVD of the band's 2005 show at the Teatro Amazonas Opera House in Manaus, Brazil, entitled Under the Amazon Lights. The package will be available via TMR's Vault subscription service.

The White Stripes' show at Teatro Amazonas was the first time the venue hosted a rock performance, and many were worried that the band's amplification would cause the plaster in the building to crack and potentially injure members of the audience. While that didn't happen, TWS did venture outside the venue to perform an acoustic version of "We Are Going to Be Friends" for the legion of fans who were unable to purchase tickets, which only added to the hysteria.

In addition to the live LP and DVD of Under the Amazon Lights, the package will include a seven-inch single containing a Jack White solo recording called "Let You Down," which would eventually become the basis of the Get Behind Me Satan track "The Nurse." The single's b-side is an instrumental outtake entitled "Ain't No Sweeter than Rita Blues."
