Credit: Tim CadienteTool frontman Maynard James Keenan has offered a new update on the progress of Tool's long-awaited next album.
"Final vocals tracked MONTHS ago," Keenan tweeted Friday morning, adding "If [all] Tool...[instrumentals] are tracked, long process of Mixing now."
In September, Kennan revealed that his "scratch vox" were "tracked awhile ago," and that guitarist Adam Jones was "deep" into recording. "Long way [to] go but much closer," Keenan wrote then of the album's progress.
As for when we'll get to hear the long-delayed album, the much-anticipated follow-up to 2006's 10,000 Days, that's still unknown, but Keenan did declare during an awards show last summer that some kind of new Tool music will arrive in 2019.
In addition to the Tool update, Keenan also announced that he's working on a new Puscifer album for 2020.
