Tool to Headline Monster Mash Music Festival Halloween Night

Credit: Tim CadienteTool will be making their 2015 live debut on Halloween night. Maynard James Keenan and company will headline the Monster Mash Music Festival in Tempe, Arizona on October 31.

Primus and Coheed and Cambria will join Tool for Monster Mash's Halloween lineup. The three-day festival, held October 30-November 1, will also feature Linkin Park, Rob Zombie, Deftones and Halestorm, as well as classic rockers Santana and John Fogerty. Only single-day tickets will be sold, with tickets for the Tool day going on sale June 26 at MonsterMashAZ.com. The other two days are on sale now.

Monster Mash will be Tool's first -- and, so far, only -- show of 2015. The band last went out on tour for a month-long North American trek in March 2014.

Perhaps Tool will debut some new material during their Monster Mash set. The band is currently working on their follow-up to their last album, 2006's 10,000 Days, which featured two Grammy-nominated singles in "The Pot" and "Vicarious." There's no word on when the album will be released, but on Sunday morning, Tool posted a news item on their website simply reading "Wait for it." If you've been holding out for a new Tool album for the last nine years, "waiting" is probably something you're already pretty good at.
