When Tre Cool was 12 years old, before he became the drummer for Green Day, he was recruited to play in the punk band The Lookouts. The Lookouts released two albums and two EPs. Now, the best of The Lookouts has been remastered and collected into a new compilation, entitled Spy Rock Road (and Other Stories).
The Lookouts were fronted by Larry Livermore, who would go on to create the punk record label Lookout Records.
In addition to previously released material, Spy Rock Road (and Other Stories) also will feature never-before-heard demos, such as the 1985 track "California/Mendocino." As a preview of the album, "California/Mendocino" is now streaming on YouTube.
Cool's Green Day band mate Billie Joe Armstrong also will make an appearance on Spy Rock Road (and Other Stories), as will Rancid frontman Tim Armstrong.
Spy Rock Road (and Other Stories) will be released on March 10.
