U2 Announces iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE Tour for 2015

Paolo PellegrinIt's a "Beautiful Day" for U2 fans: the band has announced a tour for 2015.  The iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE Tour will find Bono and the boys playing indoor arenas for the first time in a decade.

The tour's name is seemingly inspired by the title of the band's current disc, Songs of Innocence, and the title of the album that will allegedly follow it within the next 18 months: Songs of Experience. Both album titles may have been inspired by Songs of Innocence and of Experience, a collection of poems by William Blake.

So far, the band will perform in 19 cities worldwide in 2015, with at least two shows in each city.  Tickets go on sale Monday, December 8.  The tour will begin May 14, in Vancouver, BC, and is scheduled to wrap in November in Paris. Additional special charity shows in Dublin, Ireland will be scheduled for the end of 2015.

“We are going to try to have a completely different feeling from night one to night two,” said Bono in a statement. “And have some fun playing with the idea of innocence and experience. More to be revealed!”  The May tour start will hopefully give Bono plenty of time to recover from his serious bicycle accident in New York's Central Park last month, which shattered his left upper arm and shoulder blade, and fractured his left eye socket.

The band's last tour, U2360°, set a record for the highest-grossing concert tour ever.
