Vance Joy Debuts War-Themed “Georgia” Video

Darren AnkenmanVance Joy has released the video for his Dream Your Life Away track, "Georgia." The very cinematic video appears to take place in the middle of a war, but stay tuned until the end for a surprise twist. You can watch the "Georgia" video now at RollingStone.com.

Joy ,a film buff himself, credits the idea for the "Georgia" video to director Luci Schroder. "When you get a good pitch like Luci's, it makes it easy for me to say 'yes' to it because I think it stands out," Joy tells Rolling Stone. "One of the goals when deciding on a [music video] is you want something to be memorable or at least to spark some kind of thought or resonate with people in a way."

"Georgia" had been on Joy's mind for a long time. He originally started writing the song in 2006, but it didn't fully come together until last year.

"It was New Year's Day in 2014, and I just sat down and started playing those chords," Joy remembers. "Somehow, I just found the right combination, found a way to put words over the top of the riff that sounded right. That's always a magic moment."

Joy is currently touring his native Australia, but he'll launch a North American headlining trek beginning April 9 in Seattle. Following that, he'll join pop superstar Taylor Swift on her massive stadium tour, beginning in May.
