WALK THE MOON’s “Shut Up and Dance” Breaks “Billboard’s” Hot Rock Songs Record

WALK THE MOON's streak atop Hot Rock Songs breaks the previously held record of 23 weeks, which was set by Imagine Dragons' "Radioactive" with their run at number-one from April to September 2013. The record was then tied by Hozier's "Take Me to Church," which stood atop Hot Rock Songs from November 2014 to April 2015, when it was dethroned by "Shut Up and Dance."

"It's been so empowering and so surreal to watch 'Shut Up and Dance' grow and now see it smash a Billboard record," frontman Nick Petricca tells Billboard. "Knowing that the song has connected with so many people in America and all over the world is a huge feeling of victory. We're just writing from the heart, and I think many people crave to connect with those real-life stories."

"Shut Up and Dance" is the lead single from WALK THE MOON's latest album, TALKING IS HARD. The band's current single, "Different Colors," sits in the top-15 on Billboard's Alternative Songs chart, which "Shut Up and Dance" also led earlier this year.
