Watch Eddie Vedder Sing “Take Me Out to the Ball Game”

Jeffrey R. Staab/CBSEddie Vedder led Wrigley Field in a rendition of "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" during the seventh inning stretch of Tuesday night's game between the Chicago Cubs and the New York Mets. The Pearl Jam frontman sported a pin with the number 14 in honor of the late Cubs legend Ernie Banks. You can watch Vedder sing the classic ballpark tune on YouTube.

Though his band is closely associated with Seattle, Vedder is a passionate Cubs fan, having been born in the Chicago suburb of Evanston, Illinois. Vedder has made numerous appearances at Wrigley to sing "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" since 1998, when he was one of the first to sing it after the passing of legendary Cubs announcer Harry Caray, who would always lead the crowd in singing the song during the seventh-inning stretch.

Vedder also threw out the first pitch at a Cubs game during last year's season. His strike was immortalized in a new Topps baseball card series, which also includes cards of Jack White and Tom Morello.
