Watch Fall Out Boy Perform as a Trio on “The Talk”

Credit: Pamela LittkyFall Out Boy appeared on the CBS daytime show The Talk Thursday, and they performed their American Beauty/American Psycho hit "Centuries," as well as their Save Rock and Roll track "My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up)." This appearance was a little different, however, as the band performed as a trio. Guitarist Joe Trohman was absent, as he recently had back surgery.

"Everyone keeps asking how I am. Very very appreciated," Trohman tweeted Thursday. "Just had the surgery on Monday. Doing well. Still recovering. Mostly stuck in bed."

In addition to the performances, bassist Pete Wentz offered his advice to younger bands.

"The heart is the engine for everything, you need that in order to succeed," he said. "There's going to be a million people that will tell you 'no,' and you have to be able to push through that."

Fall Out Boy will be touring in support of American Beauty/American Psycho during their massive Boys of Zummer tour, which begins in June.
