ABC/Image Group LABefore Twenty One Pilots became arena-headlining superstars, they were just another touring band with little to no production. The duo's growth is on full display in a new video comparing their first show in Arizona in 2013 to their recent show at Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix.
The clip splices together footage from that first Arizona show, which required Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun to wheel their gear onto a small stage that was barely higher than the floor, with the elaborate production of the duo's current stage show.
"A lot of load-ins under our belt and this might be one of the worst," Joseph says in footage of the first show. Needless to say, a lot has changed in the last five years.
Twenty One Pilots are currently on tour behind their new album, Trench. The trek continues Thursday in Portland, Oregon.
