Wilco Cancels Concert Due to Controversial Indiana Law

Austin NelsonWilco has cancelled an upcoming concert in Indianapolis in protest of Indiana's new and controversial law, the Religious Freedom Restoration Act.

The Chicago-based band tweeted Monday that it has scrapped its Indianapolis show that had been scheduled for May 7. Wilco wrote, "'Indiana Religious Freedom Restoration Act' feels like thinly disguised legal discrimination. Hope to get back to the Hoosier State someday soon, when this odious measure is repealed."

Its Twitter feed notes that refunds are available at the point of purchase.

Indiana Governor Mike Pence has said he signed the law last week to protect religious liberties, but critics believe it could lead to legally-protected discrimination against gays and lesbians.
