X Ambassadors have scored a top-10 debut on the Billboard 200 with VHS. The band's first full-length album arrives at number seven on the chart with 30,000 equivalent album units sold in its first week, 25,000 of which were pure album sales.
The success of VHS has largely been fueled the album's lead single, "Renegades," which itself was buoyed by a commercial for the Jeep Renegade that prominently featured both the song and the band members. After a speedy ascent to the top-10 of Billboard's Alternative Songs, "Renegades" has now led the chart at number one for four straight weeks.
X Ambassadors will be touring this summer in support of VHS with a mix of headlining shows and dates with Milky Chance.
In other charting news, last week's number-one album, Breaking Benjamin's Dark Before Dawn, falls to number six on the Billboard 200 this week. The band's fifth album, and their first since 2009, managed to move 31,000 equivalent album units after selling 141,000 units in its first frame.
