The band has released "Jet Pack Blues," the sixth song from their forthcoming album, American Beauty/American Psycho. You can stream "Jet Pack Blues," along with the previously-released "Irresistible," "American Beauty/American Psycho," "Centuries," "The Kids Aren't Alright," and "Uma Thurman," on YouTube.
"There is a certain coldness to the future when I think about it from the wrong angle," writes Pete Wentz of the lyrics in "Jet Pack Blues." "It is when we leave town for weeks on end. When I try to put myself together on long bus rides lying in my bunk -- when you get so lonely it feels like white hot rage."
With only a week to go before American Beauty/American Psycho is officially released, FOB has jettisoned their original "one new song a week" plan for a quicker approach. Starting with the release of "Jet Pack Blues," the band will be streaming AB/AP in its entirety. Stay tuned to their YouTube page for streams of the five yet-to-be-released tracks.
In sadder FOB news, guitarist Joe Trohman will not be performing with the band during their January 14 show in London due to the death of his mother, who passed away last Sunday.
"As of Sunday, January 11 2015 my mother passed away," Trohman writes in a statement. "I can’t express the sorrow and heartache I am currently feeling. For now I have to be with my family and help everyone cope: Hopefully everyone reading this understands and holds no ill will towards me for making this decision."
Trohman's guitar tech Josh Newton will fill in for him at the London show. FOB's next scheduled performance after London is a stop in Chicago on January 24.
American Beauty/American Psycho will be officially released on January 20.
