Soundgarden makes request to have Vicky Cornell turn over their social media passwords

Tara Ziemba/Getty ImagesThe intense legal battle between Vicky Cornell, the widow of late Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell, and the band heated up again on Tuesday when new claims were filed in court.

According to Billboard, the band claims Cornell's widow locked them out of their social media accounts and are demanding she fork over the passwords.

Soundgarden's surviving members -- Matt Cameron, Ben Shepherd and Kim Thayil  -- alongside business manager Rit Venerus, submitted the complaint to a judge last Thursday and requested the courts to intervene.

The band accused Vicky Cornell of changing the passwords to all their social media accounts -- Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and others -- alongside their official website without their permission.  The Grammy winning band adds that they have essentially been locked out of their accounts and are hoping that a judge can convince Cornell to hand over the keys.

Soundgarden also offered another solution, asking that a disclaimer that reads, "Soundgarden has temporarily suspended its official social media accounts due to pending litigation" be added to their accounts.

The band submitted a December 2019 email stating Cornell gained access to the band's passwords when the band's former management company, Patriot Management, granted her access to the band's login information that October.

The email alleges "Vicky [Cornell] has since changed all the social media passwords for the band accounts and will not share them with [Patriot] as she wants the band, and I quote, 'to sue her for them'."

The band furthers their website and social media handles have been "in a state of neglect," resulting in broken links, confusion among fans and the accounts being stripped of the "verified blue badge."

A hearing is set for April 16.

Pearl Jam is the top streaming concert artist of the pandemic, according to Bandsintown survey

Brian Rasic/WireImagePearl Jam has been the top artist of the last year when it comes to streaming concerts, according to a Bandsintown survey.

The live music discovery and recommendation platform used its data of "fan RSVPs to livestreams and archival concert performances" to determine which acts people have been tuning in to watch the most since the COVID-19 pandemic began in March 2020. According to that metric, the number-one spot belongs to Eddie Vedder and company.

Metallica was second on the ranking, followed by Billie Eilish. Other artists who made the top 20 include Tedeschi Trucks Band, Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, Dave Matthews Band, Coldplay, Radiohead, The Lumineers, The Rolling Stones, Five Finger Death Punch and Death Cab for Cutie.

Bandsintown also surveyed 7,688 fans and artists, and found that 86 percent of fans have watched a concert livestream over the past year, while 85 percent of artists plan to make streaming a "permanent part of their performing plans," even after the return of in-person shows.

It looks as though streaming Pearl Jam shows will be the only way to watch the band perform for some time, as the grunge icons just postponed their summer 2021 European tour to 2022. To help soften the blow of that news, Pearl Jam will be streaming their 2010 Hard Rock Calling Festival set in London for free starting April 2 via Nugs.net.

Here's Bandsintown's list of the top 20 concert streaming artists of the past year:

1. Pearl Jam
2. Metallica
3. Billie Eilish
4. Snow Patrol
5. Tedeschi Trucks Band
6. Elton John
7. Bruce Springsteen
8. Dave Matthews Band
9. Radiohead
10. Coldplay
11. The Lumineers
12. The Rolling Stones
13. Taylor Swift
14. Five Finger Death Punch

Muse’s Matt Bellamy sends Nandi Bushell his signature guitar

Suhaimi Abdullah/Getty ImagesNandi Bushell's got another axe with which to rock, courtesy of Matt Bellamy.

The Muse frontman sent the 10-year-old viral music prodigy a model of his signature guitar, made by the company Manson. The gift comes after Bushell caught the attention of Muse with her covers of songs including "Hysteria" and "Plug In Baby."

Bushell shared a video of her unwrapping the guitar and reading a note from Bellamy via her YouTube page.

By the way, Bellamy isn't the first famous rocker to send Bushell a guitar. Rage Against the Machine's Tom Morello also gifted her one of his Fender "Soul Power" Stratocaster guitars in response to her cover of "Guerilla Radio."

Bushell also made headlines last year with her viral drum battle with Dave Grohl.

The Offspring combines “dark” & “dance-y” with comeback single, “Let the Bad Times Roll”

Credit: Daveed BenitoThe Offspring's upcoming album Let the Bad Times Roll has been in the works for some time now, but its title track feels right on time.

The song "Let the Bad Times Roll," which was released as the record's lead single in February, seems to reflect the state of the world over the past year, though guitarist Noodles tells ABC Audio it was written "right before" the COVID-19 pandemic.

"[The] pandemic just kinda brought those lyrics into sharper focus, I think," he says.

Noodles describes "Let the Bad Times Roll" as being about "world leaders that seem to want to make things worse by dividing us rather than keeping us together."

"Not just here in the U.S., but really all over the world we're seeing that," Noodles says. "So we're kind of looking at all the social unrest coming from that, from world leaders that want to make problems worse rather than bring people together."

Musically, Noodles feels that the "dark" verses contrasted with the "dance-y" choruses, reflecting the song's message.

"We kinda wanted to look at what's going on in the world around us, but then also kinda go, 'Oh, well, what are you gonna do? Might as well dance!'" he says.

Overall, Noodles wanted "Let the Bad Times Roll" to be a song of hope.

"We're pretty hopeful as human beings," Noodles says of himself and his band mates. "So even while we're pointing out that things are really messed up in the world right now, we're still hopeful that they're gonna get better."

"There's things that we can change, and then when you can't change, you gotta roll with the punches, you know?" he adds. "Let the bad times roll."

Let the Bad Times Roll the album is due out April 16.
