Credit: Steve KerosThe students of the Viewpoint School in Calabasas, California, got a Halloween treat on Wednesday when none other than the Red Hot Chili Peppers showed up.
While dressed in costumes, Anthony Kiedis and company made a surprise appearance during an assembly, and played their 2002 track "Can't Stop." You can watch the performance now via the Viewpoint School's Facebook page.
Both Kiedis and drummer Chad Smith have kids who are students at Viewpoint.
In addition to playing surprise school shows, the Chili Peppers are also working on new music. Their most recent album is 2016's The Getaway.

ABC/Heidi GutmanTwo Green Day members are in the news, both for reasons unrelated to Green Day.
First, frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has come to the defense of his friend and fellow musician John Spencer, who attended Wednesday's MLB wild card playoff game between his favorite team, the Oakland Athletics, and the New York Yankees. He was cheering on the A's during the game, which was held in New York, when a Yankee fan threw a cup of beer at him
"I've known this kid since he was in middle school," Armstrong posted on Instagram alongside a photo of Spencer. "His name is John and he was hit with a cup of beer by a moron at the A’s/yankee game...He was there to root for his beloved Oakland Athletics."
"He's also one of the most kick a** drummers I've ever heard and he's been a great influence to my sons as musicians," Armstrong added. "Let's make him feel awesome and show him some love."
Meanwhile, Green Day drummer Tre Cool has released a new EP with his "Icelandic death metal" band Dead Mermaids, in which he plays drums and handles lead vocals under the name Bjorn Roarkson.
The five-track collection is titled You're Welcome, and is available now for digital download.
As for Green Day, the band has been fairly quiet this year, but they have been rehearsing some of their classic albums in full, including Dookie, Insomniac and Kerplunk, leading to speculation that some kind of anniversary tour is in the works.

Courtesy of Live NationGuns N' Roses have performed all over the world during their long career, but the legendary rockers surprisingly have never played a concert in Hawaii. That will change on December 8, when the band performs at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu.
Tickets for the concert go on sale to the general public next Friday, October 12, at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster.com. If you're a member of GN'R's Nightrain club, you can buy pre-sale tickets starting today at 12 p.m. local time, while Citi card members will be able to purchase them beginning Monday, October 8, at 10 a.m. local time through the company's Private Pass program.
The Honolulu show currently is the last concert scheduled on Guns N' Roses' Not in This Lifetime Tour, which launched in 2016 and has featured Axl Rose reuniting with his fellow founding band members Slash and Duff McKagan.
A new fall leg of the trek kicks off November 3 in Monterey, Mexico, and also will feature shows in Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Abu Dhabi and South Africa. Check out GN'R's full tour schedule at GunsNRoses.com.
Noam Galai/Getty ImagesR.E.M.'s Michael Stipe is headed to Washington, D.C., this week to participate in a protest against the Senate confirmation of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
The protest, dubbed "Bravery Is Contagious," will be held in D.C. outside of the Supreme Court this Thursday, October 4.
"If there was ever a moment when the voice of the people can come together in concert to change the fate of our nation, this is it," reads a statement from the protest organizers. "Arm in arm, organized and ready, every child, woman, and man, must take to the streets to protest this nomination. The legitimacy of the nation's highest court is at stake as is the future of our country."
Other stars participating in the protest include musicians Alicia Keys, Erykah Badu and Ezperanza Spalding, and actors Maggie Gyllenhaal and her husband, Peter Sarsgaard.

Credit: Steve KerosYou'll have to wait a little bit longer to read Flea's memoir. According to a tweet from the Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist, the book, titled Acid for the Children, has been delayed to 2019.
"Due to some scheduling conflicts, the release of my memoir has been delayed until next year," Flea writes. "Will have a date as soon as possible."
Flea first announced back in 2014 that he'd be writing a memoir. Earlier this year, he announced the title of the book and a September 25 release date, which was then pushed to November 27.
As for what those "scheduling conflicts" could be, fans are hoping they have to do with the Chili Peppers recording a new album. Earlier this month, frontman Anthony Kiedis told the New York Postthat the band was preparing to hit the studio in the coming weeks.
Olaf HeineBono's voice has been called many things, but now we can add "soothing" to that list.
Last week, the members of U2had just started playing a very intimate and unplugged version of "One" in a Paris restaurant called Refettorio, when a small child started crying. Without hesitating, Bono picked up the girl and held her, bouncing her gently as he started singing.
In a video posted to Instagram by Massimo Bottura, the restaurant's founder, the girl seemed comforted and stopped crying.
Bottura thanked U2 in the caption of the video for their support of Refettorio, an upscale restaurant that exclusively serves free meals to those in need.
U2 is currently on the European leg of their Songs of Experience + Innocence tour, which wraps up November 13 in Berlin. That show is a make-up date for one the band was forced to cancel several weeks ago after Bono lost his voice.

Image credit: Andy EarlCranberries singer Dolores O'Riordan's death last January was the result of drowning and extreme alcohol intoxication, according to testimony at a coroner's inquest in London Thursday.
The coroner testified that O'Riordan, 46, died as a result of a "tragic accident", according to the BBC.
O'Riordan was found dead the morning of Monday, January 15, in her room at the Park Lane Hilton Hotel in London. A police constable who was at the scene testified Thursday, "I saw Mrs. O'Riordan submerged in the bath with her nose and mouth fully under the water."
O'Riordan's blood-alcohol level was measured to be four times over the legal limit for driving. Five mini-bottles of alcohol and a bottle of champagne were found in the hotel room room as well as bottles of prescription medication. "Therapeutic" amounts of the latter were also found in O'Riordan's blood, the BBC reports.
O'Riordan was taking medication to treat bipolar disorder, the inquest heard. O'Riordan herself announced in 2017 that she'd been diagnosed with the illness.
O'Riordan would have been 47 today. In a statement Thursday, the band said, in part, "Dolores will live on eternally in her music. To see how much of a positive impact she had on people's lives has been a source of great comfort to us. We'd like to say thank you to all of our fans for the outpouring of messages and their continued support during this very difficult time."
O'Riordan's distinctive, lilting voice led the Cranberries to international fame in the '90s, thanks to hits like "Linger," "Dreams" and "Zombie." They sold over 40 million records worldwide before taking a hiatus in 2003. In 2009, they reformed and released the album Roses in 2012.
O'Riordan also released two solo albums: 2007's Are You Listening? and 2009's No Baggage.
Olaf HeineU2 was forced to cut short their show in Berlin on Saturday night after Bono lost his voice. Fortunately, the singer says it's nothing serious and the band will return to Berlin in November to make it up to fans.
A statement on U2's website on Saturday from Adam Clayton, Larry Mullen Jr. and The Edgeread, "We're so sorry for tonight's cancellation. Bono was in great form and great voice prior to the show and we were all looking forward to the second night in Berlin, but after a few songs, he suffered a complete loss of voice."
"We don't know what has happened and we're taking medical advice. As always, we appreciate our audience's understanding and all our fans' support in Berlin and those who traveled from afar. We will update you very soon."
On Sunday, Bono posted a statement saying, "I've seen a great doctor and with his care I’ll be back to full voice for the rest of the tour. So happy and relieved that anything serious has been ruled out."
He added, "My relief is tempered by the knowledge that the Berlin audience were so inconvenienced. There was an amazing atmosphere in the house, it was going to be one of those unforgettable nights but not for this reason…We can’t wait to get back there on November 13th."
A handwritten note from Bono added, "P.S. to those who sang 'Red Flag Day' for me last night, thanks, there are some high notes in there. As always, 'You take us higher.'"
"Red Flag Day" is a track on U2's latest album Songs of Experience.
The band's next show is Tuesday in Cologne, Germany.
