Coldplay, David Bowie, The 1975 & More Nominated for Brit Awards

Image Group LA/ABCThe nominations for the 2017 Brit Awards -- the British equivalent of the Grammys -- have been announced, and David Bowie, Coldplay and The 1975 are among those recognized.

Late legend Bowie is nominated in the British Male Solo Artist category, as well as in the British Album of the Year category for Blackstar. Coldplay's "Hymn for the Weekend" is up for British Single and British Artist Video of the Year.

The 1975, who will also be performing at the Brit Awards, is nominated for British Group, while their album I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it is up for British Album of the Year.

Other nominees include Twenty One Pilots and Kings of Leon for International Group, and Radiohead and Bastille for British Group.

The 2017 Brit Awards will take place February 22 in London.
