Avenged Sevenfold Grabs Top-Five “Billboard” 200 Debut with The Stage

Credit: Jeff ForneyAvenged Sevenfold's surprise album The Stage has debuted in the top five on the Billboard 200. The seventh studio effort from M. Shadows and company arrives at number four on the chart with 76,000 equivalent album units, 72,000 of which were pure album sales.

The Stage is A7X's fourth top-five album on the Billboard 200, along with 2013's Hail to the King, 2010's Nightmare and 2007's Avenged Sevenfold. Both Hail to the King and Nightmare debuted at number one on the chart.

Avenged Sevenfold surprise-released The Stage on October 28 during a virtual reality rooftop performance in Los Angeles. The album deals with the subject of artificial intelligence, and features a cameo from famed astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson.
