Billie Joe Armstrong Wants to “Do More Acting in the Future”

ABC/Randy HolmesBillie Joe Armstrong made his debut as a leading man this year in the film Ordinary World, and the Green Day frontman is ready for more time in front of the camera.

"I think I'd like to do more acting in the future," Armstrong tells British magazine Rock Sound.

In Ordinary World, Armstrong played Perry, an aging punk rocker who throws a giant bash after his family forgets his birthday.

"Perry was a cool part to play, and it was really fun to be doing something that people might not typically associate with me," says Armstrong. "I just like making things, basically -- everything stems from boredom and keeping busy is my solution to that."

Armstrong does have at least one acting gig lined up for the future: he'll reprise his role as St. Jimmy in the film adaption of the American Idiot Broadway musical, which is currently in development with HBO.
