Credit: Emily ShurBritish actor Ben Aldridge has been tapped to play Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo. Well, more like someone inspired by Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo.
Aldridge has been cast as the lead in the FOX sitcom Detour, Deadline reports. Detour, which was inspired by Cuomo's life, tells the story Michael Sturges -- a 30-year-old rock star who decides to quit his band and go to college. Cuomo is an executive producer on the show.
While Cuomo never quit Weezer to go to college, he did apply to Harvard University after the release of the band's debut album. He attended the university from 1995 to 2006 and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in English.
