PRNewsFoto/THIRTEEN/WNET New YorkLandmarks Live in Concert, a live performance program hosted by Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, will premiere January 20 on PBS. R&B star Alicia Keys will guest on the first episode.

Part of PBS' Great Performances series, Landmarks Live in Concert finds artists performing in front of landmarks to which they feel a special connection. For example, Keys' episode was filmed at various famous spots in her hometown of New York City. As host, Smith will interview each artist about why the landmarks are important to him or her.

"Working on Landmarks to create a new series which focuses on the artists' stories, not just the performances, is something that I'm truly excited about," says Smith in a statement. "Landmarks is a real collaboration between a unique creative team and artists that will certainly change how music shows are approached."

In addition to his Landmarks hosting duties, Smith will be spending 2017 on the road with the rest of the Chili Peppers in support of their new album, The Getaway.
