Coldplay Recording New, Possibly “Final” Album

Image Courtesy of Anton CorbjinColdplay may have just come out with Ghost Stories, their sixth album, earlier this year, but according to Chris Martin, the band is already working on a new record -- which could be the band's last.

"We're making an album called A Head Full of Dreams," the Coldplay frontman told BBC Radio 1's Zane Lowe on Thursday, also noting that A Head Full of Dreams might be Coldplay's "final" album, even comparing it to the conclusion of the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

"It's our seventh thing, and the way we look at it, it's like the last Harry Potter book or something like that," he said. "Not to say that there might not be another thing one day, but this is the completion of something."

"I have to think of it as the final thing we're doing. Otherwise we wouldn't put everything into it," Martin continued. He then announced that Coldplay would be going on tour after A Head Full of Dreams is released.

You can listen to Martin talk about A Head Full of Dreams via the BBC Radio 1 Soundcloud page.
