Credits: Jamie Weiland; Travis ShinnSlipknot's Corey Taylor joined Jane's Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro's band Royal Machines to cover Stone Temple Pilots' "Sex Type Thing" on Monday in tribute to Scott Weiland, who died last week at age 48. Navarro was one of the first people to announce that Weiland had passed away. He shared the news in a since-deleted tweet.
Taylor, meanwhile, has history with Weiland's other band, Velvet Revolver. Slash revealed in an interview with Rolling Stone last year that Taylor was the "closest" to becoming Velvet Revolver's new singer after Weiland left the band in 2008.
