The saga of Courtney Love's Twitter defamation lawsuit appears to have come to an end. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Love has agreed to pay a $350 thousand settlement to fashion designer Dawn Simorangkir, who brought the defamation suit against the former Hole frontwoman.
This case marks the second settlement Love has agreed to in connection to tweets she wrote about Simorangkir more than six years ago. Love was unhappy with how she was billed for custom clothing, and proceeded to call Simorangkir a drug dealer and prostitute with a history of assault and battery. Simorangkir sued Love for defamation, after which Love paid a $430,000 settlement.
Love then proceeded to taunt Simorangkir on social media once more, again calling her a thief, which resulted in this second settlement, for $350,000.
Love attempted last February to get the second lawsuit thrown out on the grounds her social media posts are protected under the First Amendment. However, the California appeals court rejected Love's claim, and the case was allowed to proceed.
