While Adele's upcoming third album is one of this fall's most anticipated releases, Blur frontman Damon Albarn isn't a fan of what he's heard so far from the pop star.
"I heard the work she did with my friend Brian," Albarn tells U.K. tabloid The Sun, referring to producer Brian Burton, a.k.a. Danger Mouse. "It's very middle of the road."
Albarn actually worked with Adele on five tracks for the album, but he's not optimistic that they will make it on to the finished product.
"Will she use any of the stuff? I don't think so," Albarn says. "Let's wait and see."
"The thing is, she's very insecure," he continues. "And she doesn't need to be, she's still so young."
While Adele is recording her hotly-anticipated album, her first since 2011, Albarn is also working on a long-dormant project: Gorillaz. He says that the cartoon band will return for their first new album since 2011's The Fall.
