Dave Grohl, Dave Navarro Contribute to New Nine Inch Nails EP, “Not the Actual Events”

ABC/Andrea McCallinAs if today's release of new Nine Inch Nails music isn't exciting enough, it turns out that new music comes with a few special guests. The band's EP Not the Actual Events features contributions from Dave Grohl and Dave Navarro.

According to the EP's liner notes, obtained by Consequence of Sound, Grohl appears on the song "The Idea of You," while Navarro plays on the closing track "Burning Bright (Field on Fire)." Both Grohl and Navarro have worked with Trent Reznor and Nine Inch Nails before: the Foo Fighters frontman played drum's on NIN's 2005 album With Teeth, while the Jane's Addiction guitarist contributed to the 1995 remix album Further Down the Spiral.

Along with the two Daves, Reznor's wife and How to Destroy Angels band mate Mariqueen Maandig also contributes to Not the Actual Events. Reznor wrote and recorded every song on the EP with his film-scoring partner Atticus Ross, who is now an official member of Nine Inch Nails.

Not the Actual Events is now available on digital platforms.
