Finish Ticket Felt “Instant Connection” to Twenty One Pilots During Tour

Finish Ticket opened for the "Stressed Out" duo during their tour last year, and even they couldn't have predicted that Twenty One Pilots would grow to be even more massive.

"When we were on the tour, we didn't really even get to see that they were getting even bigger, just because we were seeing the same size crowds every night, 'cause it was all sold out," guitarist Alex DiDonato tells ABC Radio. "Then when we get home, we realize that, 'Wow, their songs are everywhere on the radio, and they're even bigger than they just were like last month when we toured with them.'

As frontman Brendan Hoye explains, Finish Ticket built their fanbase through their live show, much like Twenty One Pilots did. Hoye feels that Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun recognized the hard work that Finish Ticket has put in, which allowed them to bond on tour.

"I think that was an instant connection for us and Twenty One Pilots...I think they probably saw a little bit of what they had done in us," Hoye tells ABC Radio. "So I think they definitely took us under the wing a little bit and helped us out on that tour."

Finish Ticket will embark on their own tour this fall in support of their EP When Night Becomes Day, which features the single "Color."
