Flea Says New Red Hot Chili Peppers Album will be “Super Danceable” and “Introspective”

"It's super danceable, funky s**t and some real introspective, pretty stuff," he tells Rolling Stone. "It feels good, man, and it's fun to play it."

When RHCP recorded their last album, 2011's I'm with You, they had just hired a new guitarist, Josh Klinghoffer. Now, after going through a period of adjustment, Flea says the band feels much more comfortable.

"We had a new guitar player and it was a real feeling-out process with each other," Flea says. "We didn't want to play gigs with him until we'd made a new record. This time, it feels a lot better than the last one."

According to the bassist, RHCP has written upward of 30 new songs, though he thinks that most of them won't appear on the new album.  "We always write way more than we put on a record," Flea says. "We always write a lot-lot."

As for a street date for the new album, Flea is hoping for a 2015 release.  "I would hope that in a year from now, we have a record out and we're on a world tour," he says.
