Happy Record Store Day!

Image Courtesy of RecordStoreDay.comToday marks the eighth annual Record Store Day, which will once again feature a heaping pile of exclusive vinyl releases from rock artists  in celebration of independent record stores. This year's release list includes contributions from Foo Fighters, The White Stripes, Mumford & Sons and Florence + the Machine.

Foo Fighters will be releasing Songs from the Laundry Room, a four-song EP featuring early Foo demos, a cover of of Kim Wilde's "Kids in America," and a previously unreleased track called "Empty Head." Frontman Dave Grohl also will serve as the official ambassador of Record Store Day 2015.

The White Stripes' 2005 album Get Behind Me Satan will be available on vinyl for the first time on Record Store Day, and Mumford & Sons and Florence + the Machine will release their respective new singles "Believe" and "What Kind of Man," on vinyl.

Other artists releasing discs for this year's Record Store Day include Metallica, Robert Plant, The Black Keys, Death Cab for Cutie, Stone Sour, Mastodon, Violent Femmes, 311, Rise Against, The 1975, Slayer, Atreyu, Interpol and Twenty One Pilots, among many, many more.

Additionally, record stores will be hosting in-store performances on Record Store Day. Foo Fighters will play Record Connection in Niles, Ohio, and Halestorm will play Grimey's in Nashville. Several stores are also holding listening parties for Mumford & Sons' forthcoming album, Wilder Mind.
