Imagine Dragons returns to number one on “Billboard” Alternative Songs chart with “Thunder”

ABC/Randy HolmesFirst they brought the lightning, and now they've brought the "Thunder." The Imagine Dragons single has reached number one on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart, seventh months after "Believer" achieved the same feat earlier this year.

By reaching number one, "Thunder" ends Portugal. the Man's 17-week run atop Alternative Songs with their breakout single, "Feel It Still." That's the third-longest reign at number one on the chart since it began in 1988, following Muse's "Madness" and Foo Fighters' "Pretender," each of whom ruled the tally for 19 and 18 weeks, respectively.

"Thunder" also sits at number five on the Hot 100, while "Feel It Still" occupies the number-four spot on that chart. With both Imagine Dragons and Portugal. the Man in the top five, the Hot 100 features two top-five rock bands for the first time in 10 years.

Both "Thunder" and "Believer" are singles from Imagine Dragons' new album, Evolve, which the band is currently supporting on a North American tour.
