Listen to Full All-Star Paul McCartney Tribute Album, Featuring Perry Farrell, The Cure and KISS, Online Now

Image Courtesy of Kyle Dean ReinfordAs the November 18 release of the all-star Paul McCartney tribute album The Art of McCartney has approached, a variety of preview videos and audio tracks have been posted at the project's official website and YouTube channel. Now, though, the 34-track collection is streaming in its entirety at RollingStone.com. The stream clocks in at just over two hours.

Among the many famous artists who contributed to the two-CD set are Jane's Addiction frontman Perry Farrell, The Cure, KISS, The Airborne Toxic Event, Heart, Def Leppard, Van Halen's Sammy Hagar and Alice Cooper. The track list is made up mostly of well-known songs from The Beatles and Sir Paul's solo catalog.  Many of the musicians recorded their tracks with accompaniment from members of McCartney's longtime touring band.

The genesis of the Art of McCartney project dates back more than a decade, when producer Ralph Sall collaborated with Macca on the soundtrack to the 2003 remake of The In-Laws. Sall, who had previously worked on tributes to classic rock bands The Doors and The Eagles, presented his idea for a McCartney homage to the rock legend, who gave it a thumbs-up.

In addition to the standard two-CD version of The Art of McCartney, the album will be available as a limited-edition box set featuring signed artwork, a DVD, an audio documentary, a 64-page book and digital, vinyl and CD versions of the record. There also will be a vinyl box set, a triple-vinyl album, a deluxe CD package, a standard digital album and an iTunes version with several extra tracks.
