New Honda Commercial Features A Cappella Version of Weezer’s “Buddy Holly”

Credit: Emily ShurIn case you were upset that the kids on Glee never sang any Weezer songs, it's Honda to the rescue. The car company has released a new commercial for its 2016 Honda Pilot featuring a family singing an a cappella version of Weezer's 1994 hit single, "Buddy Holly." You can watch the family bonding via Weezer singing now on YouTube.

The commercial was helmed by Oscar-nominated director Jason Reitman, whose work includes Juno and Up in the Air.

This has been a big year for car commercials and rock songs. X Ambassadors' single "Renegades," which has now sat at number-one on Billboard's Alternative Songs chart for four straight weeks, was featured by a commercial for the Jeep Renegade that prominently featured both the song and the band members.

If you'd like to hear Weezer with instruments, the band is currently on the road playing festivals this summer and fall, including Gathering of the Vibes, Riot Fest and Life is Beautiful.
