Nickelback and Arnold Schwarzenegger bicker on Twitter

ABC/Tim OgierThis week, Arnold Schwarzenegger released a video condemning gerrymandering, the practice of manipulating district borders in order to gain a political advantage. In the clip, the actor, former California governor and current host of The New Celebrity Apprentice points to polls that show Congress being less popular than root canals, herpes and everyone's favorite musical punching bag, Nickelback.

Schwarzenegger tweeted out the video, writing, "When Congress is less popular than herpes & Nickelback, how do 97% of them get re-elected? Gerrymandering."  Well, Nickelback didn't take kindly to yet another jab at their expense, and the Canadian rockers responded by taking a shot at the Governator's acting skills.

"@Schwarzenegger big fans. Approval rate this: Batman & Robin," Nickelback replied, referring to Arnold's not so well-received portrayal of the villain Mr. Freeze in the 1997 film.

"Please leave us out of your future wisdom drops," the band added. "Danke Shön Herr Governator."

In his reply back to the band, Schwarzenegger channeled his Mr. Freeze character's love of puns.

"That's...ice cold," he quipped. "I hope we can agree that we need a freeze on gerrymandering, guys. Thanks for the reply."

"@Schwarzenegger well played, sir," Nickelback responded, adding the hashtag #respect.

Nickelback recently released their new single "Feed the Machine," the title track from their forthcoming album, due out June 9. The band will be touring behind Feed the Machine all summer starting June 23 in Noblesville, Indiana.
