Red Hot Chili Peppers will share the first preview of their forthcoming 11th studio album this week. The band revealed on Twitter that they will be releasing a new single called "Dark Necessities" on Thursday, May 5.
The new album will be the Chili Peppers' first since 2011's I'm with You. The band's co-manager Cliff Burnstein previously said that the record could be released by "early summer."
Meanwhile, Red Hot Chili Peppers have a summer full of festival dates ahead of them, including headlining sets at Rock on the Range, Osheaga and Lollapalooza.
