Kevin Mazur/Getty Images for Parker MediaRed Hot Chili Peppers will share the first preview of their forthcoming 11th studio album this week. The band revealed on Twitter that they will be releasing a new single called "Dark Necessities" on Thursday, May 5.
The new album will be the Chili Peppers' first since 2011's I'm with You. The band's co-manager Cliff Burnstein previously said that the record could be released by "early summer."
Meanwhile, Red Hot Chili Peppers have a summer full of festival dates ahead of them, including headlining sets at Rock on the Range, Osheaga and Lollapalooza.
