Robert Trujillo’s “Jaco” Documentary to Be Released on Record Store Day Black Friday

Robert Trujillo/Passion PicturesMetallica bassist Robert Trujillo's film Jaco, a documentary about legendary jazz bass player Jaco Pastorius, will be released on Blu-ray/DVD and digitally on November 27, this year's Record Store Day Black Friday, as will the film's soundtrack.

In celebration of Jaco's release and Record Store Day Black Friday, Trujillo, who is an executive producer on the film, will hold a signing at the Sound Garden record store in Syracuse, New York. The event will include a screening of Jaco.

Directed by Paul Marchand and Stephen Kijak, Jaco tells the story of Pastorius, a "self-taught, larger-than-life musician who single-handedly changed the course of modern music by redefining the sound and the role of the electric bass guitar." The film includes appearances by Red Hot Chili Peppers' Flea, Sting, Carlos Santana and Rush's Geddy Lee.
