Scott Weiland & the Wildabouts Release New Song, “White Lightning”

Image Courtesy of Jamie WeilandScott Weiland & the Wildabouts have premiered "White Lightning," the first song to be released from their forthcoming debut album, Blaster. The new track, which Weiland says was inspired by the prohibition era, is now streaming on Billboard.

"It's a musical homage to the film Lawless...moonshine, jalopies..the whole scene," the former Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver frontman tells Billboard. "It's got a sludgy, bluesy stomp from start to finish yet there are ethereal elements that take you on a journey."

"The riff has been in the back of my head for a long time, but when I wrote the lyrics I had just watched the film, it was on my mind, and the words just naturally flowed with the overall tone of the song," he says.

Blaster will be released on March 31. Weiland will bring the Wildabouts on tour in support of the upcoming record starting February 22 in Scottsdale, Arizona, and continuing through March 14 in Boston.
