In an interview with Rolling Stone last week, Chris Cornell said that Soundgarden is "already working on new material for an album." Now, we have photographic proof. On Twitter, Soundgarden shared a photo of Cornell and company from a recent writing session.
"Working on new material this week," reads the photo caption.
Soundgarden's last studio album was 2012's King Animal, the band's first album after breaking up in 1997. Last year, Soundgarden released a rarities compilation called Echo of Miles: Scattered Tracks Across the Path, featuring three discs' worth of B-sides, covers, instrumentals and demos.
Meanwhile, Cornell will be releasing his latest solo album, Higher Truth, on September 18. He will embark on a solo acoustic tour in support of Higher Truth starting September 18 in San Diego.
