The Gaslight Anthem will be going on hiatus after they complete their European tour this August. In a Facebook post, the members of the New Jersey band say that they will be "taking a break" from The Gaslight Anthem, but they will be pursuing other projects.
"We're all going to do other projects and stay active in some way or another, both in and out of music, but we'd like to step away from the band until we decide what we'd like to do next," the post reads. "We'd like to recharge and take a step back until we have something we feel excited about rather than going right back to making a record just for the sake of making the next record. We all feel this is the best decision we can make and it feels like the right one for us."
The Gaslight Anthem's last album was 2014's Get Hurt, which debuted at number four on the Billboard 200.
"Thank you to everyone who came out and supported our band for the last eight years and we'll see you down the road!" the post concludes.
The Gaslight Anthem will play the Gathering of the Vibes festival in Bridgeport, Connecticut this weekend before kicking off their European tour August 14 in Budapest. The tour will conclude with the band's set at the U.K.'s Reading Festival on August 30.
