The show will coincide with the NBA's All-Star Weekend celebration, also held in NYC, and will be hosted by current San Antonio Spur Matt Bonner. Tickets are on sale now via Ticketmaster.com.
The Alt Star Party is a Rock On Foundation fundraiser that aims to blend the NBA with the alternative rock world. The Walkmen headlined the first Alt Star Party.
THS's Alt Star performance will also be the band's final show in 2015, as it will be their 113th show in 13 months in support of their 2014 album, Teeth Dreams.
As for what the members of THS will do in their free time this year, a press release says, "Craig Finn is going to become a captain's apprentice on the Staten Island Ferry; Tad Kubler is going to Bob Bondurat's stunt driving school; Steve Selvidge will be forming a Van Halen cover band; Galen Polivka will be finishing courses to become a UN interpreter; and Bobby Drake is going to move to Mexico to commence his Lucha Libre ascendancy."
