Tom DeLonge Releases First Solo Song, “New World”

Credit: Johnny BuzzerioTom DeLonge has unveiled "New World," his first solo track to be released in his new post-Blink-182 world. "New World," which takes hints from DeLonge's work with Blink and the more atmospheric Angels & Airwaves, is streaming now on YouTube.

"New World" will appear on DeLonge's forthcoming solo debut, To the Stars...Demos, Odds and Ends, which will be released April 21. The full track list for To the Stars will be revealed March 16.

Earlier this year, DeLonge got into a very public fight with Blink drummer Travis Barker and bassist Mark Hoppus about whether he was still a part of Blink-182. Barker and Hoppus reportedly issued a statement saying that DeLonge had quit the band, which DeLonge then denied. What followed was a series of back-and-forths in which each side reiterated their positions. Most recently, Barker said in an interview that DeLonge should "man up and quit the band."

In the meantime, Matt Skiba of Alkaline Trio has joined Blink in DeLonge's absence. Skiba will play with the band at their next gig: the Musink Festival in Los Angeles March 22.
