Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagicA previously unreleased song from the Dave Navarro era of Red Hot Chili Peppers has hit the Internet. The song, which is called "Circle of the Noose," was leaked by a YouTube user. A representative for Red Hot Chili Peppers confirmed the track's authenticity to Rolling Stone.
Navarro joined Red Hot Chili Peppers from 1993 following the departure of guitarist John Frusciante. He played lead guitar on RHCP's 1995 album One Hot Minute before leaving the band in 1998. "Circle of the Noose" was recorded in 1997.
When asked about "Circle of the Noose" on Twitter, Navarro replied, "Wow what a trip down memory lane!"
Red Hot Chili Peppers' current guitarist is Josh Klinghoffer. The band is in the midst of recording their new album, their first since 2011's I'm with You.
