Films of Innocence, the recently reported collection of short films inspired by each of the 11 tracks on U2's new album, Songs of Innocence, will be released on Tuesday via iTunes and Amazon. To celebrate the arrival of the visual compilation, each flick premiered earlier today on a different website and will be viewable exclusively at those respective sites until 11 a.m. ET on Tuesday.
Each short movie was created by a different respected urban artist from around the world chosen personally by U2. In addition, a 12th flick made by Irish painter Conor Harrington to accompany the Songs of Innocence bonus track "Crystal Ballroom" can be accessed exclusively by U2.com subscribers.
The videos include both animated and live-action sequences and, thanks to the many artists who contributed to the project, offer a variety styles and points of view. The films were all made using the political murals that appear in urban areas of Northern Ireland as a reference point.
To check out the list of videos, the artists who created them and the websites where they currently can be viewed, visit U2.com.
