Watch a Clip of Foo Fighters Recording “In the Clear”

Roswell Records/RCA RecordsFoo Fighters' eight-part documentary series, Sonic Highways, is getting a Blu-ray/DVD release next month. In case eight hours of Foo wasn't enough the first time around, the physical release will include include extended interviews, plus more than two hours of exclusive footage from inside the recording studio. As a preview of that bonus footage, Foo Fighters have uploaded a clip of the band recording the track "In the Clear," which you can watch now on YouTube.

The clip features producer Butch Vig looking on as the Preservation Hall Jazz Band records the horn part and frontman Dave Grohl lays down his vocals. Foo Fighters recorded "In the Clear" at the Preservation Hall studio in New Orleans.

Sonic Highways the series documented the Foo Fighters traveling from city to city while they recorded Sonic Highways the album in studios across America. Along the way, Grohl would interview musical legends in each city, and he would use those interviews to write the lyrics for the album.

Sonic Highways will be released on Blu-ray/DVD on April 7.
