Watch Metallica’s Grammy dress rehearsal performance with Lady Gaga…and working mics!

Monty Brinton/CBSMetallica has shared footage of their dress rehearsal for their Grammy performance of "Moth into Flame" with Lady Gaga. The rehearsal looks and sounds just like the performance on the telecast, except, of course, James Hetfield's mic is actually working. You can watch the dress rehearsal footage now via Gaga's YouTube page.

"Before the mics went out on live TV, we had a #GRAMMYs dress rehearsal with @ladygaga that was just ON FIRE!," Metallica writes on Twitter.

During the actual Grammy performance, Hetfield's mic infamously didn't work at the beginning of the song so -- following a couple of inaudible verses -- he ended up sharing Gaga's mic. Speaking on The Late Late Show days after the Grammys, drummer Lars Ulrich said that Hetfield was "livid" after Metallica left the stage.

Metallica will be touring stadiums across North America this spring and summer in support of their new album Hardwired...to Self-Destruct starting May 10 in Baltimore.
