X Ambassadors' first song to make the Billboard's Alternative Songs chart has reached the top-10 awfully quick. The band's single "Renegades" has reached the number eight spot on Alternative Songs, and it only took four weeks to get there.
The last band to have their first charting single crack the top-10 so quickly was Jack White's first White Stripes side project, The Raconteurs. Their debut single, 2006's "Steady, As She Goes," also charted in the top-10 in just four weeks. Before The Raconteurs, Billy Corgan's side project Zwan also reached the top-10 in four weeks with their 2002 single "Honestly."
The success of X Ambassadors' "Renegades" has been buoyed by a commercial advertising the Jeep Renegade. The ad prominently features both the song and the band members.
"Renegades" will be featured on X Ambassadors' forthcoming debut album, VHS, which will be released on June 30. The band will be touring in support of VHS on a headlining trek in June, followed by an opening stint for Milky Chance in July.
In other chart news, Twenty One Pilots' "Tear in My Heart" has also reached the top-10 on Alternative Songs at number 10. "Tear in My Heart" is the lead single from Twenty One Pilots' new album, Blurryface, which is out now.
