Credit: Gabriel GreenAlt-J's newest album, This Is All Yours, has had a lot of buzz for a number of reasons, not the least of which is the Miley Cyrus sample used on the song "Hunger of the Pine." Drummer Thom Green has one simple answer as to why the band decided to include a sample of Cyrus' "4x4" on their song.
"It just sounded good," he tells New Zealand's Under the Radar.
"We didn’t do it to throw people off although we were aware it was probably going to happen," Green continues. "In the end we went with it because it sounded nice."
This Is All Yours, Alt-J's second album, was released last month and debuted at number four on the Billboard 200. The band is currently touring North America through a December 16 stop in Portland, Oregon. Alt-J will return to the USA on March 30 for a show at New York City's Madison Square Garden.
