Arcade Fire Up for 2014 “Billboard” Touring Award; Chris Cornell Featured as Keynote Q&A

Image Courtesy of JF Lalonde2014 might officially be Arcade Fire's "breakthrough" year -- at least as far as touring is concerned. Along with pop-rock band OneRepublic and country duo Florida Georgia Line, the Montreal band will vie for the Breakthrough Award at the 2014 Billboard Touring Awards, scheduled for November 20 at the Edison Ballroom in New York City.

Billboard describes the Breakthrough Award as an accolade that "honors an artist in their first decade of headlining who broke through to the top ranks of all tours for the first time."

The Billboard Touring Awards ceremony will serve as the finale of the 11th annual Billboard Touring Conference, which is scheduled for November 19-20 at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City. Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell will be featured as the conference's keynote Q&A session.

The winners of each award will be based on numbers reported to Billboard magazine from October 1, 2013, through September 30, 2014. Classic rock group The Eagles and pop stars Justin Timberlake and One Direction are the finalists in the Billboard Touring Awards' headlining category, Top Tour.
