“Big Hero 6” Soundtrack, Featuring New Fall Out Boy Song, Gets Release Date

Image Courtesy of Walt Disney RecordsThe next album with new Fall Out Boy music will be the soundtrack for the Disney animated film Big Hero 6. The soundtrack, which features the FOB song "Immortals," will be released digitally on November 4 and on CD November 21.

Fall Out Boy wrote "Immortals," which was released earlier this week, specifically for the film. The song will play over a sequence that finds the the protagonists of Big Hero 6 transform from "super smart individuals to a band of high-tech heroes."

"They're testing out their new super suits for the first time in the scene," says Pete Wentz in a statement. "Some of it works -- some of it doesn't. You get the sense that they're stepping into a bigger role. The story's in the DNA of Fall Out Boy. It is an authentic story and it's who our band is -- we've always identified with the underdog."

The rest of the soundtrack album will feature the film's score, written by Henry Jackman. The composer also scored Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Wreck-It Ralph.

Big Hero 6 the film, which is based on the Marvel comics of the same name, will hit theaters November 7.
