"Last day of recording solo album!" Cornell wrote. "We made the magic happen."

The new album will be Cornell's first studio album since 2009's Timbaland-produced Scream. That album proved to be divisive among fans due to its electro-pop sound. Those who weren't fond of Scream may be happy to know that the photo posted alongside Cornell's Facebook update includes producer Brendan O'Brien, who has previously worked with Cornell and Soundgarden's grunge contemporaries Pearl Jam and Stone Temple Pilots, as well as AC/DC, Seether and Rage Against the Machine.

Meanwhile, Cornell has also contributed his vocals to "Heavy Is the Head," a new song by Zac Brown Band. "Heavy Is the Head" is a single from the country group's forthcoming album, Jekyll + Hyde, which will be released on April 28.
